Provisional Title
"Creative and innovative design: from Leonardo da Vinci to the present day, incentive tools for creative projects” (“Design creativo e innovativo: da Leonardo da Vinci ai nostri giorni, strumenti di stimolo ai progetti creativi").

The research, both theoretical and practical, deals with processes and means for favouring the creative process related to design, through the analysis of the works of the great master of Italian Renaissance, Leonardo da Vinci, who carried out countless innovations in product design. The results of the analysis of Leonardo da Vinci's works are compared with current creativity for innovation processes. In this research the approach and presentation of the subject matter regard the application of studies on Leonardo da Vinci in research centres, labs, companies, enterprises and industries, as well as amongst professionals and students of design. The results of the research will be the basis for a development of a methodology and practice aimed at enhancing the creative process in product design projects, which will also help in visual design, with a specific focus on innovation. This is a continuation on the research on creativity and design begun by the PhD candidate in 2004 with the purpose of collaborating in design-related educational activities in several universities.
