Therefore, besides the preservation policies, considering the approaches that help such quarters to maintain their constant developments is of great importance in urban planning. One of the solutions to such problems is utilizing modern techniques and approaches in urban planning, as Branding is one of them. Branding the historical quarters, on one hand, thrives to sustain the economical developments of the quarters, and on the other hand it functions as a way to identify the characteristics of the quarters. Framework texture of the quarter and its public spaces and centers, churches, schools and its historical houses are among the most important elements that strengthen its possibility to change into an urban brand. The following study tries to plan for registering Isfahan’s Julfa quarter in UNESCO’s world heritage using urban branding approach in historical quarters’ planning; and thus, moreover protecting the quarter’s social structure, it tries to sustain its sustainable urban development.
