DIDA Dipartimento di Architettura

School of Architecture

The School of Architecture is the academic structure that coordinates and manages the academic programmes offered in the fields of architecture, landscape management and design. It is the evolution, in accordance with the provisions of Act n. 240 of 30/12/2010, of the Faculty of Architecture. The academic programmes offered by the Department of Architecture DIDA are organised and coordinated by the School of Architecture. The areas of interest are emphasise planning skills, in other words the capacity to operate syntheses that integrate various fields of knowledge. Both the scientific disciplines and the learning processes involved are directed towards the possibility of intervening with full awareness, and through the project design, in order to improve the situations that present critical elements, and more generally to foster the evolution of the reality being studied towards more advanced objectives. The capacity to interpret this reality and to propose credible hypotheses regarding its evolution characterises the graduates in the project-related fields.

The educational activities are divided into three sections:

  • the first consists of a First Cycle Degree equal to undergraduate studies on completion of an initial three-year study programme;
  • the second consists of a Second Cycle Degree equivalent to post-graduate studies on completion of a two-year study programme, a Single Cycle Degree, combining bachelor and master programmes, on completion of a five-year study programme, and a one-year (first level) post-graduate Master Degree;
the third consists of a PhD Degree, a two-year (second level) post-graduate Master Degree, as well as Specialisation Diplomas, Advanced Training Courses, Continuing Education and Vocational Training Courses
