D.D. 13502/2024 prot. n. 0271085 del 1.11.2024

In carrying out their functions and pursuing their stated objectives, all organisations shall base their organisation and actions on the principles of effectiveness, efficiency and cost-effectiveness; they shall implement forms of self-assessment and equip themselves with tools for analytical and managerial monitoring, as well as for financial and asset monitoring.

The University adopts procedures for the self-assessment of teaching and research activities, measures to support the right to education, and administrative management; and, where appropriate, for external evaluation and quality assurance, in accordance with a system overseen by the University Evaluation Unit.

To this end, the Department’s Policy and Self-Assessment Committee, referred to in Article 14 of the Departmental Regulations, comprises twelve members – eight professors and four research fellows – elected by the Departmental Council, in accordance with Article 47, paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of the Statute.

The eight professors and four researchers who have received the highest number of votes are elected. Among candidates within each category who have received an equal number of votes, the one with the longest length of service in a permanent post is elected; in the event of equal length of service, the oldest candidate is elected.

The Commission may also be supplemented by a maximum of twelve experts from universities and research bodies – whether national, international or foreign – who are qualified and active in fields of research relating to the scientific and disciplinary sectors for which the Department is responsible; these experts are appointed by the Departmental Council on the recommendation of at least one third of the professors and researchers who are members of the Commission. The experts appointed by the Council and the Head of Department sit on the Steering and Self-Evaluation Committee in a non-voting capacity.
