TxP_R Technology for the Project_Research unit

 

Coordinator arch. Maria Antonietta Esposito, full professor of Design and Technological design architecture (08 - C1 includes the SDS: ICAR 10-11-12-13), currently serving in the Department of Architecture of the University of Florence as an associate professor in Architectural Technology (ICAR/12).

 

TxP_R (www.txpresearch.wordpress.com) was founded in order to exploit and disseminate the results obtained thanks to the specific interdisciplinary expertise gained over many years of research in Airport Design (since 2008) within the Department and - most recently - between the Departments of Architecture and Engineering and international level universities. TxP_R works for studies and research projects, knowledge transfer and innovation, both at national and international level.

The Research Unit allows to strengthen their specific expertise and interdisciplinary methodologies, accrued tools and to disseminate the results of research towards, the institutions, airport owners and designers.

TxP_R has carries out research on behalf of institutions and central state governments and large Airport Design companies; hosts internships for doctoral research, dissertations and professional activity; works as a consultant for airport operators and designers also offering opportunities for internships and industry placements for recent graduates and graduate students. The TxP_Research Unit strengths the action and visibility of the Department in the Airport Design field, with clear benefits for the University of Florence.

Civil Aviation is crucial for the globalised Economy. The pandemic COVID-19 pointed out new requirements for airport design to win-back carriers and passengers confidence. The flight worldwide traffic had collapsed until less 98% in April 2020 and the year expected average is 60% of 2019 (IATA).
This program introduces students to effective design leadership in Airport Architecture, demonstrating how it positively affects every facet of a terminal design encouraging and guiding innovation, collaboration, execution, and delivery. Drawing on the resources of TxP_R within the Architecture curriculum and its Dragon Lab (Laboratorio di Progettazione Ambientale), the course combines intuitive methods taught in the world ‘s best design schools with the systematic, analytical methods for which TxP_R is world renowned.
You will learn how to enable an action based organizational culture in which collaboration is generated, lean and error skip is encouraged, and failure is analysed as a source of learningresulting in successful innovation.
Students also will learn both strategic and hands-on techniques for structured exploitation through modeling.
By applying a design-centered approach to interdisciplinary team leadership, you will be able to conceive of radically innovative design options to multi-faced problems risen by the pandemic impact to airports and create solutions that passengers appreciate in their travel experience.

7th International Workshop - When Social Science meets Lean and BIM

In order to disseminate and share the latest Project Management methodologies, the Department of Architecture of the University of Florence - has organized a workshops (January 28-29, 2019) intended for operators, professionals and researchers on the topic: "When Social Science meets Lean and BIM" dedicated to the discussion of techniques for the creation of collaborative environments.
International studies show that these aspects can not be treated separately. Famous experts from European and International Institutions will take part in the workshop.

La valutazione dei costi nel ciclo di vita consente di mettere a confronto più soluzioni, dando informazioni a chi deve effettuare delle scelte. Il metodo LCC garantisce di avere uno sguardo complessivo sulla sostenibilità dell’opera, in quanto ad un minor costo sul ciclo di vita corrisponde anche un minor costo ambientale. In Europa si adottano procedure di calcolo con riferimenti comuni ed il green-procurement viene associato alla valutazione LCC. A livello nazionale il TxP_R sta promuovendo metodi e strumenti LCC per il green-procurement.
